Awesome cozy restaurant with warming atmosphere especially with its fireplace. Calm vibe so you can have a conversation. the staff is awesome, let you take your time and enjoy the night as the table is booked for the whole night: no pressure. the Risotto and Escalope de foie gras are great starters. For meat lovers, the main dish can be a wide selection, went with the: filet mignon de veau which is served with ravioli stuffed with foie gras and the Carre d'agneau that comes with a puree smashed with agneau inside it. love it and will definitely come back. Third time here, always great food. Tried the scallops, salmon tartar and again fois gras The Short rib is phenomenal

Great food, great service and great night. The ambience is cozy and you really feel at home in this little house full of history. We had table near the fireplace and it definitely added to the experience. Everything was good, the fish cakes are a must try. They also have a stout beer ice cream. I mean what else do you want. PROS - The food ! - The desserts, especially the chocolate mousse and the chocolate squares; - The ambiance (including the fireplace); - The service and the staff. CONS - Not an impressive list of Whisky nor Cognac; - The tables in the smaller rooms feels impersonal.

On Grand Prix weekend we looked outside Montreal to find a great restaurant and we were able to find a table through their app even within three hours of table time. The neighbourhood is picturesque and the house is tucked back from a pretty public square. Walking up we knew this was going to be a great experience and confirmed even more so as we walked in and greeted by the staff. The service was excellent and all the staff was very patient and kind to translate. Taking a picture with Google also quickly translated the menu. The service was timely and we never felt rushed. We choose the multi course menu with wine pairings. Expensive but worth the experience because we got to try four beautiful wines paired with all the courses. I lost count honestly but they were all made and presented to perfection. All the roast vegetables burst with flavour and the meats, shellfish, sauces and deserts were fabulous. If you want a culinary treat Le Mitoyen is a great choice!

Charming little gem in the heart of Ste-Dorothee. Expert staff, great cuisine.

Simply amazing. Situated in a lovely detached house in a quite neighborhood of Laval, Le Mitoyen serves unpretentious French classics with fresh and local ingredients. Every dish we ordered was excellent, but the foie gras, scallops and lambs were highlights of the nights. Service was very warm and attentive. Do allow time to dine here since everything was cooked fresh and it can get very busy.

We went to celebrate our marriage anniversary and it was the perfect choice. Starting with the service, the host told us a bit about the restaurant history (btw this place is an institution) he gave us amazing wines recommendations and he was very friendly and empathic all the time. The place is a restaurant inside a house, cozy and warm perfect to have a date. Food was incredible, they make an effort to buy local and high quality supplies which makes it more special. Everything was very tasty and delicious. Definitely I will come again.

We were a group of 8 that all opted for the 5 service "degustation" menu with wine pairing except one of the guests. The fact that if was a Tuesday likely contributed to the extra personalized service. The dishes rolled out with perfect interval. Very flavourful and nice assortment of local foods. Quaint terrace in front of the restaurant looking onto the square which had a public piano playing. Provided an extra unexpected ambience to the whole dining experience.

We were a group of 4 to celebrate friend birthday, my first experience, and I was amazed with the quality of the foods, excellent services, and warm ambient. We are looking for the next group party and for sure that we'll recommend it to our friends.
